Auckland Challenge Privacy Policy – Duke’s Addendum (Last updated 2023-06-12)

Interpretation

For the purposes of this policy: “the promotional activity” refers to “Duke, the DofE Chimp” and the actions associated with the movements and control of the same. “Media” refers to photos, videos, comments, and text submitted to Auckland Challenge through Duke’s Journal (primarily at aucklandchallenge.org.nz/dofechimp/dukes-journal/) and other locations.

Contingencies

This policy is an addendum to the Auckland Challenge Privacy Policy 2022, providing additional terms for the use and storage of data collected in relation to the promotional activity, and should be read in conjunction with the Auckland Challenge Privacy Policy.

Release

By submitting media to Auckland Challenge, you grant Auckland Challenge rights to use this media across social media, print, graphic or any other form of Auckland Challenge’s choosing for an indefinite period, subject to the consent obtained upon submission. You shall always retain all rights over your media.

Storage

You grant Auckland Challenge the right to store the media indefinitely, which may include in data centers operated by Microsoft, data centers operated by Hostinger, and third-party data centers and locations necessary to facilitate the storage and distribution of the media.

Deletion

You may request the deletion of your media at any time by emailing [email protected], subject to: Auckland Challenge making a best-effort attempt to remove your data from public-facing sites (acknowledging the open nature of the internet, where absolute removal may not be possible); a best-effort attempt to remove the media from immediate access through internal databases and the website; and that some media may be retained in backup media, which may not be feasible to remove and may be retained in backups for up to 24 months.
